Auditions for violin, viola, cello, double-bass
London Musical Arts Ensemble invites professional violin, viola, cello and double-bass players to apply to audition for forthcoming Music-in-Motion projects as well as at our series of concerts at St Martin-in-the-Fields and in
We currently perform around 16 evening concerts and 8 family concerts each year at St Martin's. Our basic configuration is 12 players, mainly strings with additional wind as required, performing music mostly from the Baroque and Classical periods. There may be opportunities for solo and concertante roles for outstanding candidates, although everyone is required to play tutti parts as required.
In addition we are planning several Music-in-Motion projects as part of our commitment to developing new audiences for classical music. For these, candidates should be able to work creatively and collaboratively with colleagues, stage and music directors and develop basic skills in stagecraft, characterisation and movement, for which appropriate training will be given. As Music-in-Motion is performed without music-stands, parts are either read from monitors or screens, or played from memory.
The total work available per player between September and December is a minimum of £1,800.
